Jakarta (Antara Bali) - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo officially opened the 49th Charity Bazaar of Women's International Club (WIC) at the Jakarta Convention Hall here on Wednesday.
"I am very proud of the Women's International Club, because it has an excellent cooperation with Indonesia not only in organizing bazaars but also in organizing civic missions," Iriana said in her opening remarks.
She also lauded the South Sumatra traditional dance performance during the opening of the charity bazaar.
Next year, Indonesia will readily feature traditional arts from its 34 provinces, she remarked.
"The 34 provinces in Indonesia have different languages and different culture but remain united," she stated.
The First Lady hoped that the WIC could organize more events that could unite women from across the world.
Many foreign embassies participated in the bazaar by displaying and offering various handicraft, clothes and food items. (WDY)
