Tegal, C Java (Antara Bali) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to open the 'Ijtima' or the meeting forum of the Indonesian Ulemas Council's Fatwa Commission (Edict Commission) at the Cikura At-Tauhidiyyah Islamic Boarding School, Tegal, Central Java on Monday.
The President is expected to open the forum at 10 a.m.
He will fly to Tegal in a helicopter from Halim Perdanakusuam airport of Jakarta after having a working visit in South Sulawesi.
The Indonesian Ulemas Council's (MUI's) forum will discuss strategic matters relating to the nation; contemporary Islamic law; and (state) law and regulations.
Regarding the strategic nationhood, discussion will focus on loyalty to the leaders who do not keep their campaign promises, the criteria of paganism or infidelity, radicalism in the nation's life.
It will also discuss the nation's defense policy and natural resources.
On the Islamic contemporary law (fikih) the forum will discus repeated hajj pilgrimage, eviction of mosques, death sentence, pension funds, immunization and the rights to child custody among divorcing parents due to difference of religions.
With regard to the law and regulations, the forum will look into sharia economy, the social security management agency (BPJS) based on the sharia law, applied law of the religious court, revision of the criminal code and the criminal code procedures, bylaws on halal abattoirs, bill on alcoholic drink and sharia tourism.
