Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Th Ministry of Trade is to hold a trade ,exhibition and promotion Canada and the US on 30 April - 7 May 2013, in particular on food and beverage products, in efforts to penetrate more global markets and restore the balance of trade values this year.
"There are eleven food and beverage companies that participate in the upcoming trade shows inToronto, Canada, and Los Angeles, The US," said Director General of Export Development, Gusmardi Bustami, on Sunday.
The participating Indonesian food and beverage companies are Main Niramas (Nata De Coco, Aloevera, Jelly); Literacy Kencana Putra (Fresh Honey Natural, Red Sugar Block, Palm Sugar, Green Tea); Maesindo Indonesia (Horeca product, table top, forage cap, chef hat); Tritis International (Desicated Coco conut), Latransa Image (Food and herbal ingredients, Seasoning); Javara (Organic Foodstuff); Rays Sosro (Tea); Indofood (Noodles, Seasoning); Wings Food (Noodles & snack); Caldera Coffee (Coffee); and Petra International (Fine Gum Paste Flower).
Canada and the United States were selected as they are a "melting pot" of the immigrants, including those from Asia and it was estimated in 10 years to come, their number in the two countries would reach one third of the total population, said DG Gusmardi.
"The purpose of this activity is a selling mission to help Indonesian food and beverage companies enter a network of potential business partners (customs brokers, importers, wholesalers and distributor) in Canada and the United States in order to lay the basis of long-term sustainable cooperation," said Gusmardi Bustami.
