Jakarta (Antara Bali) - US Embassy Jakarta Chargé d'Affairs Kristen Bauer on Wednesday attended the semi-annual Food and Hotel Indonesia (FHI) 2013 trade show, according to the US Embassy here on its official website on Thursday.
At the show, Chargé Bauer met eight U.S. food product exhibitors that included exporters and agricultural industry representatives.
FHI is the largest and most important food, beverage, and hospitality trade show in Indonesia. Participating in the event allowed the US companies to build on preexisting commercial partnerships and forge new ones, too.
Indonesia and the United States enjoy a mutually beneficial and complementary trading relationship in agricultural, fishery, and forestry products.
In 2012, Indonesia was the 8th largest market for U.S. agricultural, fish, and forestry products with exports valued at $2.7 billion.
Conversely, in 2012, Indonesia exported to the United States upwards of $5 billion in food and agricultural products, making the U.S. market the second-largest export destination for Indonesian food and agricultural products. (*/DWA)
