Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The former chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Lieutenant General Mohammad Kharis Suhud passed away early on Monday.
The 87-year-old was born on April 10, 1925 in Madiun in the province of East Java. He chaired the MPR or the House of Representatives (DPR) from 1987 to 1992, during the regime of former President Soeharto.
Suhud also served as the Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand between 1975 and 1978.
He will be laid to rest at the Kalibata Heroes cemetery in Kalibata in south Jakarta on Monday afternoon(DWA)
