Denpasar (Antaranews Bali) - Consulate General of China in Denpasar, Bali, has launched a special tourism guide book on the Island of Gods to support and offer convenience to tourists from the country.
"We hope the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), and tourism players would display this guidebook at hotels, the airport, and other places," Consul General of China in Bali Chen Wei stated during a meeting with the government, police, immigration, tourism, and related agencies here on Friday.
According to Wei, the 29-page tourism guide book contains more detailed information than the previous book, which provides information on Bali, immigration, currency, accident prevention, and insurance.
In addition, the Chinese guide book includes the operational timings of banks and restaurants along with information on transportation, hospitals, emergency response tips for natural disasters, laws, customs, important office contact numbers, language, attractions, and Balinese culture and customs.
The Chinese consulate general office in Denpasar has printed some 30 thousand guidebooks to be distributed free at the local consulate general office located on Jalan Tukad Badung Renon, Denpasar.
Wei noted that in 2014, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Bali had reached only 400 thousand people and thereafter slowly increased in 2015 to 600 thousand people, 980 thousand in 2016, and 1.37 million people until October 2017.
Wei pointed out that the number of Chinese tourist arrivals in 2017 could exceed 1.5 million, but due to the eruption of Mount Agung, the number of recorded tourists reached 1.37 million.
"However, that figure also showed an increase of 30 percent as compared to that recorded last year," Wei added.
He expressed hope that apart from helping tourism in Bali, the practical guidebook is also expected to reduce problems faced by tourists from the panda country, as the number of visits had increased.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office Anak Agung Yuniarta Putra lauded the practical guide book on Bali for the tourists from China. (WDY)
