Kintamani, Bali (Antara Bali) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will involve banks in Indonesia to provide budgetary support for the development of 10 new tourist destinations in the country.
"Of the 10 new destinations, Labuan Bajo was in the working area of the OJK Regional Office VIII Bali-Nusa Tenggara," Director of Supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regional Office VIII Bali-Nusa Tenggara, Nasriwan said to Antara in Kintamani, in Bali Saturday.
Through the government, the OJK sought to provide some funding for the development of a number of tourist destinations, one of which is located in East Nusa Tenggara, namely Komodo Island, at Labuan Bajo, according to him.
Financing the development of travel will be done from a number of budgetary lines in the form of bank loans and also through the social funding companies or 'CSR' government banking.
In that context, OJK is awaiting the results of the mapping conducted by a special team formed by the Ministry of Tourism which ordered the monitoring and implementation of field mapping. "From the result, a number of requirements to support the interests of tourism in the east end of the island of Flores, would be obtained," he said.
A number of things that will be financed by OJK through banking assistance include, among others, facilities and infrastructure at the point of destination, and road and bridge infrastructure that support tourist sites.
Also on the cards are the development and improvement of a number of houses to be developed into proper inns, homestays and a number of other support facilities which can provide comfort to travelers.
OJK is working to respond to the results of a joint commitment with the Ministry of Tourism through a cooperation contract for the benefit of tourism in Indonesia, one of which is in Komodo, after Bali worldwide.
The private sector through the Ministry of Tourism will be involved in achieving the purposes of government in the development of the 10 new tourist destinations.
"In addition to application needs, we will also follow mapping needs so that it can meet the standards for the achievement of its objectives," Nasriwan said.
The government of President Joko Widodo has shown a new spirit to build a number of sectors including tourism in the area, he said.
In that context, the development was to be completely routed to the public, so that citizens can enjoy its fruits, which would be available directly. "Now, not just large companies or entrepreneurs will enjoy this development," he said.
Therefore, in the context of the development of tourism, OJK continues to encourage the public and private sector to be able to map out a number of requirements with the involvement of the community, so that the impact of gains could also be enjoyed by residents at the intended destination.
"Of course, we also hope there will be an increase in the welfare of residents in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, and East Nusa Tenggara, which would later impact other residents in the areas characterized by the islands," Nasriwan added.
The government has established 10 new tourism destination in Indonesia after Bali.
In that context, President Joko Widodo has ordered the Ministry of Tourism to complete the project in cooperation with OJK for the sake of development financing.
The 10 new tourist destinations, among others, are Labuan Bajo, Morotai, Lake Toba, and Wakatobi, in addition to Tanjung Kelayang, Mount Bromo, Borobudur Temple, and Thousand Islands. Tanjung Lesung Beach, and Mandalika are also among the ten. (WDY)
