Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian women's empowerment organization, Women For The World (WFTW), wants to create 5,000 Indonesian women entrepreneurs within five years.
"Our goal is to create five thousand women entrepreneurs in five years. Every year we are targeting to have one thousand entrepreneurs in each province," Founder and President of WFTW Rosa Rai Djalal said here Monday.
She hoped the effort can support national economy growth.
Increasing entrepreneurship, particularly by women, can improve the economic welfare of family without leaving children or husband, she explained.
"The women who participated the entrepreneurship training in business must share their knowledge to two women in her community," Djalal said.
The multiplier system is expected to accelerate the growth of women entrepreneurs, she added.
According to Djalal entrepreneurship is the right profession for women because of their high flexibility in running the business.
"Besides the entrepreneurship does not need specific educational background, it can also be done without leaving the house. Without leaving their children women still can make money," she said. (WDY)
