Cairo (Antara Bali) - Indonesian delegates from Junior High School Avicenna Jakarta participated in the Kucukcekmece International Children Folklore Festival, which was held on April 19-26 in Istanbul, Turkey, Indonesian group leader Dina Bayundani stated here on Monday.
According to her, 19 Indonesian delegates performed three traditional dances namely Ratoeh Jaroe that originates from Aceh province, Lenggang Nyai from Jakarta and Giring-Giring from Kalimantan. Apart from performing in the festival, the Indonesian delegates also performed in several schools across Istanbul to introduce Indonesian culture to students there.
Meanwhile, spokesman to the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, Robertus Irawan, clarified that after performing, the Indonesian team got a round of applause from the visitors of the folklore festival. (WDY)
