Denpasar (Antara Bali) - A troupe of Indian artists from the Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra of Delhi will visit Bali and will perform ancient Ramayana dances in three locations for five days to start on Sunday.
"The visit is arranged through cooperation between Indian Consulate and a number of agencies in Bali," Virender K. Jatav of the Indian consulate said here on Saturday.
Virender said the Indian artists will perform at the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI)of Denpasar on Sunday , at Gianyar Cultural Center on Monday and at Museum of Puri Lukisan Ratna Warta Ubud, in Gianyar on Thursday.
Ramayana has traditional values , universal still relevant until today, he said. "The legend of Ramayana has a series of episodes telling about the conquest of evil by good ," he said.
He said he hoped the Ramayana shows would contribute to strengthen cultural relations between Indonesia and India. (*/DWA)
