Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The coming post-fasting month holidays or Lebaran have the great potential to boost trips of domestic tourists so that the target of 250 million domestic tourists this year would be achieved, a senior official said.
"At present, 'mudik' (hometown-bound trips) and Lebaran are the best moments to boost the movement of local tourists not only in Java but also outside Java island," Marketing Director General for Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Esthy Reko Astuty said here on Sunday.
Esthy said that Lebaran and school holidays would prolong the high season and increase the number of trips by domestic tourists.
Therefore, the director general was convinced that the target for the movement of 250 domestic tourists would be achieved at the end of the year.
"The number of the country's middle-class people is increasing and they fond of traveling not only in Java but also in other islands in Indonesia," she said. (*/DWA)
