Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President of the Islamic Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq has denied charge that he had accepted bribe to support meat imports.
"Certainly I would not accept bribe, not me nor my party and the cadres of the Prosperous Justice Party," he said in a statement received by ANTARA news agency here on Thursday.
The Corruption Eradication Commission has named Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq a graft suspect in meat import case.
Luthfi said he was shocked on hearing his name was in the list of suspects in the case.
He said friends told him that an official statement of KPK puts LHI among suspects in a bribery case.
"I don't know who KPK means with the initial, but my name is Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq or LHI as people always call me," he said.(*/DWA)
