Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Marty Natalegawa, met with his visiting Australian counterpart, Bob Carr, here on Monday to discuss human trafficking and maritime cooperation issues.
"We are discussing cooperation in search and rescue activities in the sea and also the fate of Indonesian children detained in Australia on charges of human trafficking," Marty said at a joint press conference with Carr here on Monday.
Marty added that both Indonesia and Australia were committed to send the underage prisoners back to their home country.
"The two nations will also work together to ensure that children are not involved in human trafficking activities," he stated.
Marty said Australia and Indonesia had successfully cooperated in their fight against human trafficking, especially since the initiation of the Bali Process.(IGT/T007)
