Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Jakarta police investigators on Wednesday named Buni Yani a criminal suspect on charge of fanning public anger.
Buni Yani was charged with uploading video on a statement of Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) about alleged insult on Islam that triggered mass rally demanding prosecution of Ahok.
"Buni Yani has spread hate and triggered public conflict," Jakarta police spokesman Sr.Com. Awi Setiyono told reporters.
If found guilty Buni Yani is facing a maximum sentence of up to 6 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rp1 billion.
The rally on Nov 4, the countrys largest demonstration, involved a number of Islamic organizations led by the Islam Defender Front (FPI).
Two weeks after the rally, police charged Ahok with blasphemy and promised that Ahok dossier would be wrapped up and ready in two weeks to be submitted to the prosecution office.(WDY)
