Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Ministry of Trade has said the 30th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) being held in Jakarta on October 21 - 25 has set a target to conclude transactions to the tune of US$1.4 billion.
"The number of both, the participants and the visitors to the trade expo, have increased this year," Trade Minister Thomas Lembong said at a press conference on TEI 2015 here on Wednesday.
He said the TEI is a way to enhance access to the market and diversify the key export destinations, particularly in non-traditional markets and emerging markets.
On the occasion, the Director General of the National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade, Nus Nuzulia Ishak, said the transaction target this year is the same as it was last year.
"We have not set a higher target and kept it at the same level as that of last year, which means it will be US$1.4 billion," she said.
Nuzulia Ishak said although the target remains at last year's level, the number of prospective buyers attending the exposition have increased, and will reach 14 thousand people.
"In the next couple of days, we will see the number of buyers reaching 14 thousand people," the Director General of the National Export Development said. (WDY)
