Jember, E. Java (Antara Bali) - Three Indonesian students from the University of Jember, East Java, were voted the best speakers in the Multidisciplinary Academic Research and Global Innovation (MARGI) held in Beijing, China.
"The three students are Harun Ismail from Electrical Engineering, Ahmad Alfan Sururi from Physics, and Muhammad Naim from Agro-technology," spokesperson of University of Jember, Agung Purwanto, said here Friday.
They won for the best paper at the international conference attended by 22 countries on August 25-26, 2015, he said.
They presented a paper entitled "APAKAUTIS (Automatic Tobacco Drying Device): The Application of Solar Panel as the Electricity Generator Equipped with Power Control Electricity and Interpolation of Nanotechnology for Sterilization and Tobacco Product Optimization.
At the event, Indonesia was represented by the Jember University and Gadjah Mada University, who had to compete with dozens of participants from Europe, Africa, and Asia, Harun Ismail said.
The students had prepared papers and presentations about five months before their departure to Beijing, supervisor Endhah Purwandari said.
"Hopefully, in the future, the students will be able to participate again in international events in England and France," she said.
MARGI has been established to discuss the global issues of multidisciplinary field. (WDY)
