Gianyar (Antara Bali) - The Democratic party proves that it is not bound by any permanent political coalition by going hand in hand with PDIP in Gianyar.
Instead of forming a coalition with Gerindra and Golkar, the Democratic faction at the Gianyar district legislative assembly (DPRD) chose to coalesce with PDIP, Hanura and Nasdem.
In Jakarta, the Democratic faction has joined the Red and White coalition led by Gerindra and Golkar to dominate the Parliament and the People's Consultative Assembly.
"A number of Democrats and cadres of PDIP, Hanura and Nasdem gathered at the house of the chairman of the Democratic party branch in Gianyar, I Ketut Jata," chairman of the Gianyar DPRD I Wayan Tagel Winarta said here on Monday.
I Wayan Tagel did not deny that the meeting discussed candidates for chairmen of DPRD commissions, honorary council (BK) and legislation body.
PDIP, Democratic faction and joint faction that groups Hanura and Nasdem are expected to have a share in the chairmanship for the DPRD.
"PDIP will have the biggest share of three seats, or at least two and the Democrats and the joint faction to have one each,' I Wayan Tagel said.
PDIP is the biggest party in Bali gathering the majority votes in the last legislative election in the tourist island.
Answering a question, about the position of Golkar and Gerindra, I Wayan Tagel Winarta said there was no communications with the factions of two parties.
"Well, as we have no communications we just leave out Golkar and Gerindra," he said.
The DPRD would hold a plenary session on Monday to determine the commissions and other departments of the DPRD and their chairmen.
The plenary session has been postponed for a week. (WDY)
