Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The Akmani Legian joins the annual Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastalea Cleanup to remove trashes from along 1,000 meters of Kuta beach area, which is located five minutes away from The Akmani Legian.
"We are excited being part of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup this year. We all have a role to play in keeping our ocean clean and free of trash. We hope this small contribution helps to keep the Kuta beach clean," Corporate General Manager The Akmani Hotels, Fanny Wantah, said here to ANTARA on Saturday.
He said that the cleanup is held together with 49 hotel pre-opening team of all levels working shoulder-to-shoulder in maintaining the cleanliness of the beach wellknown of its white sand.
Trash gathered were categorized and recorded, and the consolidated data will be sent to the Ocean Conservancy to be analysed and used to influence legislation on marine laws, He stated.
"On this one morning we collected more than 6,900 items in some four trash bags weighing of 42 kilograms," Fanny added.
The International Coastal Cleanup in Bali is organized by EcoLeadership Training. The numbers of organisation and volunteer participating in the second year have increased from two organisations to nine plus three group zone captains. (PR/theAkmaniLegian/DWA/T007)
