Surabaya (Antara Bali) - The Indian Navy warship 'INS Ranjit D53' docked at Jamrud Utara pier at Surabaya's Tanjung Perak port in East Java on Thursday.
"The ship will remain here until March 17 before leaving for the Philippines and Malaysia," the Fifth Main Naval Base (Lantamal V) spokesman, Major Agus Setiawan, informed the press at Tanjung Perak on Thursday.
The destroyer-type ship carried on it a crew of 320, including 35 officers. Before arriving here the ship visited Makassar for several days.
Agus Setiawan said while in Surabaya the ship's crew would visit several tourist spots in East Java, apart from the headquarters of Lantamal V and Koarmatim (the Eastern Fleet Command).
"We will also organize several activities including a sporting event," he said, hoping the Indian Navy personnel would enjoy their visit here.
The visit of the Indian warship is aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries.(*/T007)
