Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of State Enterprises, will market its national products in Nepal, such as airplanes, fertilizers, defense and security equipments, and contraception.
"Nepal is a country with huge potential, and a very progressive developing country," the Assistant Deputy for Mining, Strategic Industry and Media, Ministry of SOEs, Bagya Mulyanto, said here on Thursday.
Bagya explained that during the last 15 years, Indonesia through the Money Printing Public Company of the Republic of Indonesia, has been cooperating with Nepal's Central Bank to print money and excise bands.
According to him, the cooperation could be expanded because Nepal can be an entry point for Indonesian products in the South Asian region.
"We've done an assessment and have met with the Director General of Customs, and Central Bank of Nepal. They welcomed us. We can take advantage of this opportunity to market our national products in Nepal," he said.
Bagya said Nepal had also suggested opportunities for Government to Government cooperation.
A Nepali businessman, Rabi Chandra Singh, said he is exploring business opportunities with Indonesian businessmen in the fertilizer industry, petrochemical products, as well as defense and security equipments.
"I am also very interested in the Indonesian aircraft industry," he said.
Singh, who serves as the Director of RR Enterprises, a private company which controls a number of business areas in Nepal and South Asia, welcomed the cooperation opportunities offered by Indonesia. (WDY)
