Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Malaysia has stopped investigation of alleged dumping of stainless steel products from Indonesia opening an opportunity for Indonesian producers to boost exports of the commodity to that country.
The Trade Ministry asked producers to increase exports of the commodity to Malaysia after the government of Malaysia announced on Sept 21, that it has stopped investigation of anti dumping charge against Indonesian products of cold rolled stainless steel.
"This is a good opportunity for exporters or producers of stainless steel products to increase exports. The opportunity should be fully utilized," acting director general of foreign trade Karyanto Suprih said in a news release issued here on Thursday.
Malaysia has stopped the investigation after founding no evidence to the dumping charge against Indonesian stainless steel products.
Earlier the government of Malaysia conducted investigation into alleged dumping of cold rolled stainless steel by a number of countries including.
"Amid the present unfavorable economic condition, the producers of cold rolled stainless steel should capitalize on opportunity and increase their exports to Malaysia to help redress the country's trade balance," Karyanto said.
On April 24 in 2015, the Indonesian government received the information about the initiation of anti dumping investigation of Cold Rolled Stainless Steel in the HS coed number of 721931000, 721933000, 721934000, 721935000, 722020130, 722020190, and 722020900. (WDY)
