Abu Dhabi (Antara Bali) - The Government of Indonesia seeks to expand the market for its products abroad by requesting retailers to offer more Indonesian export products to the customers.
"I just want to see more Indonesian products such as onion, papaya, mango, and also factory products in the market. I have urged retailers having outlets spread across countries to add more Indonesian products," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated after meeting the owner of Lulu Department Store on the sidelines of his visit to Abu Dhabi, Sunday night local time.
The Lulu Department Store has 160 retail outlets spread across the Middle East and Asia.
Jokowi pointed out that Indonesian products are competitively priced, however the quality of the products still needs to be improved.
"The competitiveness of Indonesian products is not a problem, but the quality is. It is necessary to build packaging units in Indonesia, so that the quality can be improved," the president remarked.
President Jokowi believes that Indonesian products will find a bigger market by cooperating with retailers such as Lulu, which has retail outlets in several countries.(WDY)
