Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Supreme Audit Agency's (BPK's) candidates must have the knowledge and understanding of how to manage and audit the accountability of the state budget, stated Gerindra Faction Leader House of Representatives Djemy Francis Farry.
"Therefore, the track record and competence of candidates for the BPK should be part of the assessment process. It is important because the challenges faced by the BPK are further becoming stronger," Djemy noted here on Wednesday.
The Regional Representatives Council (DPD) selected 25 out of the 63 candidates for the BPK. The selection was based on ability, capability, and independence.
According to Djemy, the BPK members should uphold the principles of accountability, transparency, integrity, and professionalism in safeguarding the country's finances.
When asked about Gerindra politician Sadar Subagyo who became a BPK candidate, Djemy remarked that Gerinda has offered full support to the member of Commission XI.
"We support Sadar Subagyo because he fulfills the requirements to become a member of the BPK, which has integrity and capability as part of its selection criteria," he affirmed.
He pointed out that Sadar was abreast of all the financial discussions as he has been in the Working Committee and Regional Financial Center.
"Currently, he is a member of Commission XI and the House of Representatives budget, and he has been in the Working Committee and the Regional Financial Center. So, he deserves to be a member of the BPK," he added. (WDY)
