Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Minister for State Enterprises Dahlan Iskan said state construction companies will cooperate in building six low cost apartment tower in slum areas of Marunda, area of state owned bonded zone operator PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN) and Klender.
"KBN will have two apartment buildings so are Merunda and Klender each to have two," Dahlan said at his office today.
The apartment buildings are planned in the three areas to accommodate people from the slum areas where river mouths were clogged holding the river water from flowing to the sea, he said.
Jakarta has been flooded by rain waters following frequent heavy rain lately largely caused by poor drainage system and management.
Dahlan said the plan had been in cooperation with the Jakarta city administration under the new Governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi.
"It is up the governor where he wants to normalize more water zones in the city. In principle we agree. Technical matters will be discussed with leaders of the state companies," he said. (*/DWA/IGT/T007)
