Four Singaporeans Hit By High Waves In Bintan

Bintan (Antara Bali) - Four Singaporeans sank when swimming in the waters of Trikora IV, Bintan regency, Riau islands, Saturday.

One of them, Yusuf Ghazali, was still gone missing in high waves, while the other one, Yusuf Michael, was found dead 40 minutes after the disaster.

They were swimming to far into the ocean without any safety equipment, and one of the victims was found wearing a sarong," head of RT Trikora IV, Bahar , said in the accident site.

Right now the local residents with the help of the police and military were still looking for the missing victim.

Bahar said the Singaporeans were spending the night in Kijang, Bintan, and went swimming to Trikora beach.

"Earlier there were four of them going swimming, one found dead, another gone missing, and another being treated at a local medical facility following high waves, and the other survived," Bahar said.

The victim who is  still under medical treatment is Ridwan, and the survivor is Ghuzaifa.(IGT)
