"From the presidential sacrificial cows weighing one ton and eighty kilograms, the yield was 750 bags, with each bag weighing more than 1.5 kilograms," said the head of the West Sumatra Great Mosque, Yulius Said, in Padang on Wednesday.
He said that 750 of these bags would be shared with the poor in the surrounding mosque.
"Our mechanism from the mosque management will distribute the bags to chairpersons from the local Neighborhood Association, and they will hand them over to the people who need them," he said.
In addition to residents around the Grand Mosque, meat will also be given to mosques or musalla on the outskirts of Padang City, where it is insufficient or scarce.
The meat will also be shared with orphanages and Islamic boarding schools in Padang.
Previously, the presidential sacrifice of cattle slaughtered for West Sumatra was carried out in the Great Mosque of West Sumatra, Padang.
Simmental type cattle were purchased from the Tarab River, Tanah Datar, weighing one ton and eighty kilograms.
The slaughter began around 10:00 WIB, with a total of 10 workers, who came from the Payakumbuh slaughterhouse (RPH).
