Xiamen (Antaranews Bali) - Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal (XOCT) in Fujian Province will accelerate export to Chinese market including from Indonesia which conducted with advance technology without involving many human resources.
"The time can be manageable. The automated is more efficient rather than human resources," Director of XOCT Wu Chaoyang said here during Bali's media visit on Wednesday.
He said some of the products imported through the terminal were manufacture needs, including those came from Indonesia.
XTOC which was developed in 2008 with a total investment reached Rmb5.32 million, has 16 cranes and 18 heavy vehicles controlled by only two officers using a computerized system.
He said each crane was able to lift at least 25 containers per hour in the area of 1.3 million square meters, making XOCT the largest equipped container terminal in Fujian Province.
Wu added that target handling of the designed capacity of automated terminal this year will reach two million containers.
In the future, he added, the target increases over 10 percent compare to the year of 2018.
Central Bureau of Statistics stated that during January to March 2018, China was the main Indonesian export destination with worth to US$6.3 billion or contributed around 15.7 percent from the total Indonesian exports.
The number increased 35 percent compared to the same period last year reached nearly US$4.7 billion.
Some of the main products exported to China were coal, lignite, iron or steel.(*)
