Singaraja (Antara Bali) - Singaraja immigration office in Buleleng
district, Bali, has deported seven illegal Chinese workers who worked
for Celukan Bawang steam-generated power plant (PLTU).
"Previously, we had questioned eight Chinese workers, but only one
of them had legal documents," head of Singaraja immigration Viktor
Manurung stated here on Tuesday.
The immigration officers have questioned Guan Guolei, 38; Song
Xiansheng, 50; Lyu Jie, 40; Xie Yinlong, 29; Ye Mao, 31; Yang Zumin, 46;
Lin Jianli, 47; and Pei Yuqiang, 31.
Only seven of the workers had visitor visas, and one worker had temporary stay permit and working permit.
Viktor noted that the immigration office would monitor the presence
of foreign workers in Buleleng, Jembrana, and Karangasem districts.
"We seriously monitor foreign workers and keep a watch on all
locations that allow foreigners to work illegally in these three
districts," Viktor added.
Previously, the immigration office had deported two Chinese workers,
namely He Xingji, 58, and Lin Meihua, 52, for illegally working in a
shrimp farm in Jembrana district. (WDY)
