Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian said that a total 15 thousand personnel will be deployed to secure the final round matches of the President Cup II 2017 national soccer championship.
The final matches scheduled to be held in the Pakansari stadium, Cibinong, West Java Province on March 11 and 12, 2017 will also be attended by Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
General Tito further said that the police personnel derive from West Java, Jakarta, Central Java and East Java.
"Some 40 buses that will carry supporters of Arema FC team will be escorted by the mobile brigade police personnel from East Java. When entering the Central Java, then the Central Javas police will escort the supporters, and afterwards it will be the West Javas police turn to escort the supporters when they enter West Java district towards the Cibinong," Tito explained.
In the meantime, police personnel from Jakarta will also escort supporters of the Jakartas Persija or Jakmania heading to the stadium, he pointed out.
Additionally, supporters of the West Javas Persib Bandung club will be escorted by the West Javas police.
Two soccer teams that will compete on Saturday (March 11) are Persib Bandung versus Semen Padang, while the other two teams that will grab the first prize are Arema FC Malang versus Borneo FC.
The President Cup II participated by 20 soccer teams was opened by President Jokowi at Maguwohardjo International Stadium in Sleman, Yogyakarta, in Central Java on Saturday (Feb.4)
Clubs that win the first prize will receive Rp3 billion. The second prize will be Rp2 billion, the third prize will be Rp1 billion and the fourth prize will be Rp500 million, he revealed.(WDY)
