Pekalongan, C Java (Antara Bali)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to visit Kajen Market in Pekalongan District, and Batang-Semarang toll road in Batang District, during his second-day working visit in Central Java Province, Monday.
"In Batang District, the President will inspect construction works of the Section I of Batang-Semarang toll road project," Bey Machmudin, Press, Media and Information Bureau Chief of the Presidential Secretariat, said in a statement, Monday.
The development of the 75 km-long Batang-Semarang toll road has been carried out since 2016.
The construction works of the toll road comprise five sections, namely East Batang (3.2 km) as Section I; East Batang - Weleri (36.35 km) as Section II; Weleri - Kendal (11.05 km) as Section III; Kendal - Kaliwungu (13.5 km) as Section IV, and Kaliwungu - Krapyak (10.9 km) as Section V.
The President is also expected to witness distribution of food supplements for local children in Batang.
At noon, Jokowi will visit Al Fadilu wal Fadilah Islamic Boarding School in Kendal District and hold a meeting with the school's leader, KH Dimyati Rois.
In the afternoon, the President and his entourage will return to Jakarta by Indonesia One presidential plane.
Jokowi arrived in Semarang, Central Java for a two-day working visit on Sunday.
He departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base located in East Jakarta at around 8.30a.m. local time aboard the presidential plane to the Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang.
From Semarang, he proceeded to Pekalongan by an Air Force's Super Puma helicopter to attend commemoration of the Prophet Mohammad's birthday organized by Habib M Lutfi Bin Yahya.
After attending the event, he extended social aid and witnessed the handing over of a number fishing boats to local fishermen in Nusantara seaport in northern Pekalongan. (WDY)
