Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has expressed deep condolences over the death of Indonesian ambassador to Croatia Alexander Litaay on Sunday.
"I hope the family remains strong and patience in dealing with the loss," she said.
Ambassador Alex died on Sunday (June 26) at Dubrava hospital in Zagreb, due to a heart disease, according to the foreign ministry.
He had suffered a heart disease and had a stroke since April 23, 2016 and remained in coma since April 25.
Ambassador Alex died at the age of 68 and survived by a wife and three children.
Alex Litaay was a politician from the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP). He was born in Ambon, Maluku, and appointed as ambassador to Croatia by President Joko Widodo on January 13, 2016.
Several politicians from PDIP including cabinet secretary Pramono Anung and legislator Eva Kusuma Sundari were among those who have sent condolences to the family of the ambassador.(WDY)
