Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia, along with other International Council for Small Business (ICSB) member states, has signed the Declaration of Human Entrepreneurship in Seoul, South Korea.
The signing of the declaration will hopefully encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship in Indonesia, special staff for the Minister for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Businesses, Hermawan Kartajaya, said in a press statement released on Saturday.
"We hope the endeavor will increasingly encourage and grow the spirit of entrepreneurship in Indonesia and show that we are serious about the matter," he said.
Indonesia has taken active part in the signing of the declaration, along with other ICSB member states, he said.
The Indonesian delegation to ICSB was led by Hermawan Kartajaya in his capacity as ICSB president for Indonesia. The other members of the Indonesian delegation were: YW Junardhy and Hendra Warsita, who are respectively vice president and secretary general of ICSB for Indonesia.
"We must also be increasingly aware that entrepreneurs must work for humanitarian purposes," he said.
The Seoul meeting serves as a forum to make preparations for the annual global ICSB Conference, which will take place in New York from June 14 to 17.
"ICSB for Indonesia will also be present at the conference in the United States. Participation in the event will hopefully encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship in Indonesia," he said.
Indonesia hosted the same event last year.
By routinely participating in the declaration, Indonesia can show the world that the Indonesian government is serious about developing technology-based entrepreneurship, which has a social impact, he said.
Human entrepreneurship is a concept of entrepreneurship developed by Prof Ki-Chan Kim of South Korea, along with the Indonesian team led by Dr Jacky Mussry, and the Dean Mark Plus Institute.
Prof Ki-Chan has divided the definition of entrepreneurship into 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.
The definition of entrepreneur 1.0 is a businessman who works for his own interests, entrepreneur 2.0 is a businessman who works for an organization, and entrepreneur 3.0 is a businessman, who works for the public and humanity.(WDY)
