Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government has formed a task force to encourage the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for the transportation sector.
The task force will work for one year, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry IGN Wiratmaja said in a press statement on Sunday.
"It will report the result of its jobs to the energy and mineral resources minister as an input," he said while symbolically receiving a CNG-fueled car from car maker Toyota Indonesia on Friday.
The task force is expected to start working on January 1, 2016, including conducting a feasibility study to speed up the energy diversification program which tops the list of the government's priorities.
The feasibility study will help the government familiarize the public with gas fuel, he added. (WDY)
