Makassar, S Sulawesi (Antara Bali)- Representatives from 12 countries have confirmed participation in the 3rd Indonesian Seaweed Forum (ISF 3) to be held here, from November 11 to 15, 2015.
"The countries that have registered themselves are India, Saudi Arabia, France, Japan, the Philippines, Spain, Morocco, Malaysia, Argentine, Australia, Switzerland, and Vietnam," Arfan Arfah, secretary general of the Indonesian Seaweed Industry Association, said here, Saturday.
The ISF 3 will be organized by the Indonesian Seaweed Industry Association and the Indonesian Seaweed Cultivation and Seaweed Community.
"The ISF is an international forum held every three years to promote cooperation and exchange information about seaweed," he said.
The forum will have various activities such as a national workshop, a conference, an international exhibition on seaweed cultivation, a launch of public campaign on Indonesian Seaweed Eating Movement (Gemari Sehat), an international business forum, and a music show.
The Cooperatives Minister and the Agrarian Land Spatial Minister are invited to attend the forum.

South Sulawesi produces 300 thousand tons of seaweed, while, the national seaweed production reaches 200 thousand tons a year, mostly for export. (WDY)
