Beijing (Antara Bali) - During a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe here on Monday, Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo highlighted his country's need for greater investment in the manufacturing industry.
"Relations between Indonesia and Japan are very good, and in the future, it will continue to be stepped up, particularly in the field of investment," President Jokowi emphasized.
Earlier, during the APEC Summit's CEO Forum, President Jokowi remarked that Indonesia is offering broader opportunities to investors for investing in infrastructure development.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stated that Indonesia was Japan's strategic partner, and as maritime nations, the two countries should significantly contribute to maintaining and upholding peace and justice.
Abe noted that Indonesia and Japan have maintained sound bilateral relations by helping each other.
He remarked that by investing in Indonesia, Japan is keen to contribute to its industrial and human resource development.
After an hour-long bilateral meeting with Abe, President Jokowi then held similar meetings with US President Barack Obama, Vietnam's President Truong Tan Sang, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Indonesian president held bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and the country's Prime Minister Li Keqiang. (WDY)
