Manado, N Sulawesi (Antara Bali) - Two Indonesian Air force's Sukhoi jet fighters have forced a foreign BE 95 airplane which entered the country's air space without permit, to land in Sam Ratulangi Airbase, Manado City, North Sulawesi.
"The foreign airplane has been forced to land because it does not have crossing permit in Indonesia territory," the Commander of Sam Ratulangi Airbase Colonel Hesly Paat said here on Wednesday.
Hesly said the airplane took off from Darwin, Australia heading to the Philippines.
The airplane has been detected by the National Air Defense Command radar on Wednesday.
Although Sukhoi had ordered the BE 95 to return to Australia, however, the pilot ignored the command. The pilot of unlicensed aircraft also ignored the landing order in Ambon city.
"We ordered the airplane to land in Manado as the last airbase because their destination is to the Philippines," Hesly said.
The BE 95 landed in Sam Ratulangi Airbase at 12:35 PM of local time.
According to Hesly, the airplane was manned by Australian pilot and co-pilot who one of them was identified as Jacklin Paul.
The preliminary information noted that the BE 95 was going to fly to the Philippines from Australia.
Officer said the airplane only carried private luggage of the pilot and co-pilot. (WDY)
