Jakarta (Antara Bali) - General chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and former president Megawati Soekarnoputri has been granted the "Lifetime Achievement Award Tahir Foundation" for her achievement in government administration and as organization leader.
A news release from the Tahir Foundation on Tuesday said tokens of appreciations were also awarded to business leaders Boenjamin Setiawan and Theodore Permadi Rahmat.
The award for Boenjamin was for his success in pharmaceutical industry. He is the founder of Kalbe Farma, a major pharmaceutical company and Mitra Keluarga hospital, which have many outlets.
Rahmat received the token of appreciation for his devotion to humanity under Triputra Group.
Megawati received the award for her achievement in the bureaucracy, Boenjamin in business and Rahmat in social work/humanity.
The foundation awards tokens of appreciation to leaders for proven achievements and who have long dedication to their work for at least 30 years.
The three award winners were selected by a seven member jury including DR Tahir, Hidayat Nur Wahid, Da'i Bachtiar Komarudin Hidayat, Jusuf Wanandi, Todung Mulya Lubis, and Primus Dorimulu.
The presentation of tokens of appreciation was the second after the first in 2013 by the Tahir Foundation.
Last year, similar tokens of appreciations were given to BJ Habibie, Jusuf Kalla, and Mochtar Riady. (WDY)
