Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Jakarta's Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg explored the various benefits of using social media in Indonesia at the City Hall here on Monday.
During a 45-minute meeting, Jokowi and Zuckerberg discussed ways to use Facebook to increase and develop small-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia.
"During the meeting with Mark, we discussed the further use of Facebook," stated Jokowi.
According to Jokowi, Zuckerberg also agreed to assist the government in promoting the SMEs in Indonesia through Facebook.
"He (Zuckerberg) has agreed to help us," he noted.
At the same time, Zuckerberg acknowledged that he had accepted Jokowi's invitation to cooperate with the Indonesian government to develop the SMEs.
"I am very enthusiastic to cooperate with Indonesia, as there are tens of millions of Facebook users in this country, so we can develop business and create many jobs," he emphasized.
Zuckerberg expressed delight on being able to visit Indonesia.
"I am very proud to come to Indonesia, especially to Jakarta. Indonesia is a big and amazing country. I am really enjoying this visit," he revealed.
Before visiting the capital city, Jakarta, on Sunday (Oct. 12), Zuckerberg also visited the Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java, and some cultural heritage sites in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. (WDY)
