Karanganyar, Central Java (Antara Bali) - Presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the grave of his father, Widjiatno Notomihardjo, in Gondangrejo, Karanganyar, during his campaign tour in West and Central Java, which began on Wednesday.
He arrived at the cemetery at about 4.05pm. His mother, Sudjiatmi, and other family members had already arrived and awaited his arrival.
He prayed at his fathers grave and then sowed flowers upon it in respect for him. After that, he also spread flowers upon the graves of his relatives buried in the cemetery.
After the cemetery he came to his mother and kissed her hand before bidding farewell to her and other relatives, leaving at around 4.20pm.
He said he came to the cemetery to pray for his father, adding his stopping at the cemetery had nothing to do with his presidential bid.
"I came to pray for my father. Nothing special. I last visited the grave two weeks ago," he said.
