Semarang (Antara Bali) - One of empty cultural heritage buildings in Central Java provincial city of Semarang collapsed on Sunday, as it was allegedly not maintained by the local municipal government.
The 15-meter high old heritage building which was constructed during the Dutch colonial era, located in Gelatik street, Purwodinatan village, said a witness, Suratwiartono (58) here on Sunday.
According to him, the ill-fated two-storey building collapsed at 9.30 a.m., and it did not cause fatality.
"When I was out of the house, the upper level of the building fell into the street," Suratwiartono said, adding the building was previously used by a cosmetic company.
In January and April 2011, two cultural heritage buildings located in Kepodang street fell down and damaged six cars and three motorbikes.(IGT)
