Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Ministry of Health has stated that nine government hospitals in Indonesia are likely to have international accreditation by 2014.
"We are preparing nine government hospitals for international accreditation by 2014," said Supriyantoro, the Ministry of Health¿s Director General for Health Development Effort, at the 12th congress of All Indonesian Hospitals Association (PERSI) here on Wednesday.
He added that two state-owned hospitals Ciptomangunkusumo (RSCM) hospital in Jakarta and Sanglah hospital in Denpasar, Bali are likely to receive international accreditation by the end of this year.
Supriyantoro expressed hope that other state-owned hospitals, such as Hasan Sadikin, Gatot Subroto, Karyadi, and Sardjito, would receive international accreditation in early 2013.
He said only five out of some 1,800 hospitals in Indonesia are internationally accredited, adding that all the five are privately owned.
The five internationally accredited hospitals in Indonesia are Siloam Karawaci Hospital and Eka Hospital Bumi Serpong Damai in Tangerang; Santosa Hospital in Bandung; and Bintaro Premier Hospital and Jatinegara Premier Hospital in Jakarta, Supriyantoro added.(DWA/T007)
