London (Antara Bali) - Visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has invited British investors to expand their businesses in Southeast Asia's largest economy.
"I once again invite you to expand your businesses in Indonesia," the President said in his keynote address to the Indonesia-Britain Business Forum at St James's Palace here on Friday evening.
Indonesia which saw high economic growth rate in recent years has large potentials to develop its economy, he told about 150 invitees including British and Indonesian officials, chief executive officers of British leading companies, and a delegation of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
The President said Indonesia whose gross domestic product (GDP) reaches about US$1 trillion is the world's 15th largest economy.
Indonesia currently contributes 34 percent of Southeast Asia's GDP, the highest percentage among those of other ASEAN member states, he said.
Additionally, Indonesia's middle class currently accounts for roughly 50 percent of its total population of 240 million, he said.(*/M038)
