Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The number of French tourists to Bali has been increasing, head of the Bali provincial tourism agency Ida Bagus Kade Subhiksu said.
"And the number of French tourists to the island paradise in 2011 ranked sixth of the 10 countries with the highest visiting rate," he said in Denpasar on Monday.
He added the number of French tourists to Bali in 2011 reached 112 thousand, which is a five percent increase of those visiting the island paradise in 2010.
"From June through August the number of French tourists to Bali is the highest per month with 10 thousand to 17 thousand," he said.
In January, February and March, he added, the number of French tourists to Bali each month reached some six thousand, which is actually not too big a difference from those in the years earlier.
He also said that the security factor is one of their important consideration.
In the meantime, he said, while there is no direct flight from France to Bali, it does not matter for them.
"It would not be too difficult for the tourists to go to Singapore first and then to Bali," he said.
In the meantime, in the interest of promotion, it is true that it cannot be done directly to France. "It must be done from Berlin where the exhibitions are held, and on the consideration that Germany is not too far from France," he said.(*/T007)
