Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Widjajono Partowidagdo, has hinted that the government may also raise the price of fuel gas after increasing the price of fuel oil on April 1.
"The price of fuel gas will be raised after the price of fuel oil has been increased," he said here on Monday.
The government is planning to increase the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by Rp1,000 to Rp4,100 from Rp3,100 a liter, equivalent to premium gasoline (LSP), he said.
"The government has agreed to raise fuel gas price to Rp4,100 per LSP," he said.
CNG business will not attract investors if its price remains at Rp3,100 per LSP, he said.
Earlier, Karen Agustiawan, president director of state oil and gas company Pertamina, said the company has set aside more than Rp2 trillion in funds to build 118 CNG stations under a mother-daughter scheme.(IGT)
