Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said political stability was they key to ensuring a country's continuity and progression, especially when it was still developing.
"Creating political stability is very important, particularly for a developing nation," he told participants of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas)'s regular education program at the State Palace here on Wednesday.
The head of state said political stability, coupled with socio-economic stability was a prerequisite for the creation of a stable country.
Also , a country would be considered stable if it was able to overcome any upheaval arising and create stability within a certain period of time, he said.
Yet, stability must be created in a democratic atmosphere, he said.
"Make sure that the format of upholding stability is on the right track, not based on an authoritarian model but a democratic model," he said.*
