Boyolali, C Java (Antara Bali) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartanto agreed to facilitate financial access for the export-oriented Small and Medium Industries (IKM).
The two ministries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Development of IKM, within the scope of insurance guaranteeing finance and consulting services for the export-oriented IKM, here on Monday.
President Joko Widodo witnessed the signing of the agreement in the presence of the export-oriented metalworkers, including copper and brass, in the region.
On the occasion, Mulyani said that the cooperation was intended to support the development of IKM.
Therefore, the Ministry of Finance has appointed a special unit in the Directorate General of Customs and Excise as a facility agent in the respective territory, along with ministries and other institutions, in developing IKM.
"The synergy was aimed to help accelerate the growth of IKM agencies in Indonesia," she stated.
Meanwhile, Hartanto hoped that the issue of IKM, in terms of financing and mentoring, can be resolved through the implementation of cooperation between the two ministries.
In his remarks, Widodo called on all the parties to support the IKM. (WDY)
