Semarang, C Java (Antara Bali) - The inclusion of airport tax or passenger service charge (PSC) in ticket price will take two months, said Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan.

"Sure, starting January 1, 2015, all airlines must include airport tax in ticket price with transition period until March 1, 2015," the minister said here on Thursday.

Jonan made the remarks after observing the Ahmad Yani airport, the Tanjung Emas harbor and Tawang Railway station in Semarang.

The transition period is needed because some tickets have been sold before the inclusion of airport tax in the tickets was announced, he stated, adding probably passengers bought the tickets 90 days or four months prior to this announcement.

"Thus, the transition is set until March 1, 2015. After that, if any of the airlines still violates the rule, I will remove the operating license. Why should be confused?" the minister stressed.

Previously, Jonan had asked all airlines in the country to include airport tax or passenger service charge with the tickets in effort to ease passenger services.

"All airlines should abide by the rule, PSC is only the matter of information and technology, if the (airlines) refuse, they must be forced to," he pointed out.

According to him, if airport tax is separated from the ticket price, it will burden the passengers. (WDY)
