Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The men's double athletes of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI)'s national training center Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo won the Malaysia Masters 2016 tournament which was held at the Penang Spice Stadium, Malaysia.
"We just try to concentrate and multiply the communication during this tournament. We don't think too much," the PBSI's public relations team quoted Kevin as saying after the tournament final match on Sunday.
Marcus/Kevin emerged as champion in the tournament which offered a total cash prize of US$120 thousand after beating the host country's athletes Koo Kean Keat/Tan Boon Heong with score 18-21, 21-13, 21-18.
These Indonesian athletes had once crushed Koo/Tan pair at the Vietnam open tournament 2015 with score 21-15, 21-19.
"We try to not make mistakes because the opponents play safely," Kevin said regarding the game.
Apart from that, the Indonesian men's single Tommy Sugiarto failed to reach the final round after being defeated by the Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei with score 19-21, 15-21.
Chong Wei won the men's single of the Malaysia Masters by beating his fellow countryman Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin 21-18, 21-11. (WDY)
