Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antara Bali) - The government will allocate more than double the rural fund budget, raising it to Rp46.9 trillion next year, up from Rp20.7 trillion this year.
With the rural fund budget hike, the amount of funds to be managed by each village will increase accordingly, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said on Tuesday.
Each village currently receives Rp289 million but this will increase to Rp628 million in 2016, he said.
He said the rural fund budget will increase further in 2017, with each village expected to receive Rp1 billion.
This is not a small amount and all village apparatuses and village heads must prepare from now on to manage the fund well, he said.
"Managing funds that will increase from Rp280 million to Rp600 million and even to Rp1 billion is not easy. This means that all apparatuses must be in a really good shape, and various skills should be mastered so that the rural community can reap benefits," he said. (WDY)
