Gorontalo (Antara Bali) - The yacht rally participants from around the world, which held in Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival, are very enthusiastic to watch Saronde Festival organized by the North Gorontalo district administration, in Saronde island, located in Gorontalo province.
Deputy head administration of North Gorontalo Roni Imran here Tuesday said the annual event this year is very special because yachter tourists are stopping in Saronde and visiting the festival since Sunday (Aug 30).
The event is usually held at the early of the year, but this time it is deliberately taken place in conjunction with the visit of the yacht rally participants that choose North Gorontalo, especially Saronde Island, as one stopover point before they continue their journey to Boalemo district.
"We are very lucky to be visited by the yachters. They really enjoy the beauty of marine tourism and want to come here again and again," Imran said.
Deane, an Australian yachter, is glad to see the Saronde Festival which very interesting and is attended by thousands of visitors.
"I am deliberately delaying the trip to watch Saronde Festival," she said.
Marine, a tourist from the Netherlands, is excited when releasing balloons in the opening of the festival.
"I have to go back again next year because North Gorontalo is so beautiful and this festival is very interesting," she said.
She was wearing kebaya karawo, the traditional dress given by the locals, when attending Saronde dances at the Kwandang Port.
The foreign tourists visiting the festival are comiing from USA, the Netherlands, Poland and Australia. They will be in Saronde island to attend Sail Tomini and Boalemo Festival.
They will be in the island for three days before leaving for Bitung and Sangihe Talaud which located in North Sulawesi province. (WDY)
